Tender, flaky, and crispy, this Air Fryer Halibut is a seafood dinner that's prepped and cooked in just 20 minutes! With a unique wasabi-infused panko crust, this fish is perfectly flavored without being too spicy.
Pat the halibut fillets dry with a paper towel. Then dip each fillet into the egg mixture, skin side up, ensuring it's well-coated. Press the fillets into the wasabi pea-panko mixture, gently pressing to adhere the crust evenly to the top of each fillet.
2 halibut filets
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray and preheat to 375F. *If your air fryer doesn’t have a preheat setting, heat it for about 5 minutes before adding the fish.
olive oil spray
Place the crusted halibut fillets in the basket, crust-side up, with about 2 inches of space between each one. Spray the tops of the fillets lightly with olive oil spray to ensure the crust gets golden brown.
Air fry for 8-10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the crust is golden brown and the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork (it should have an internal temperature of 135-140°F).
Notes
The best way to crush wasabi peas is to use a food processor or seal them in a bag and crush with a rolling pin. You can also use a small amount of wasabi powder instead (about 1/4 tsp).
If your air fryer doesn’t have a preheat setting, heat it for about 5 minutes before adding the fish.
Use a meat thermometer and check for an internal temp of 135 to 140 to ensure the fish is fully cooked.
If you have leftover wasabi peas, they make a great snack! You can also use them for snack mixes, rice bowls, or even to crust other proteins like chicken or salmon.
