Season shrimp with salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, chili powder, and brown sugar.
1 lb jumbo shrimp,, 1/2 tsp kosher salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp brown sugar, 1/4 tsp chili powder
Heat olive oil in a large heavy bottomed pan medium high heat. Sauté garlic for 30 seconds, until fragrant. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer, cook for 3-4 minutes, and flip.

Immediately after flipping the shrimp, add the lime juice, mezcal, and jalapeño to the skillet. Cook for another 2 minutes or until shrimp are opaque and cooked through.
