Jalapeño Ranch Dressing Recipe

This Jalapeño Ranch Dressing recipe is one of my favorites. I love ranch and could eat it with almost anything. This recipe has such delicious bright flavors from all the fresh ingredients like fresh lime juice, fresh cilantro, and just the right amount of heat from the fresh jalapeños.

The best thing about this homemade ranch dressing is that it’s healthier than traditional ranch dressings. Most bottled ranch dressings and even homemade recipes have buttermilk, mayonnaise, or sour cream.

This version is made using Greek yogurt, making it a healthier option. It has more protein and less fat and is something that any ranch lover can feel good about eating!

greek yogurt, jalapeño, lime, olive oil, garlic, and parsley

Ingredients you will need

Plain Greek yogurt– a healthy alternative to some of the traditional choices like sour cream or mayonnaise. Since it has the same tangy flavor as ingredients that are typically used, no one will taste the difference except that this jalapeño ranch recipe will be a super creamy dressing and will be tastier than anything they’ve ever tasted!

Extra virgin olive oil- make sure to use a good EVOO and not something like vegetable oil or a light olive oil you’d use for cooking. Olive oil is lighter and healthier but also has a better flavor that will shine through in this recipe.

Lime juice– Lime juice is best to use however, if you don’t have any on hand you can use white vinegar in a pinch.

Seasonings– While some might use ranch dressing seasoning, I like to use fresh Garlic, Fresh cilantro, Onion powder, and Kosher salt in this recipe.

Jalapeño peppers– Fresh jalapeño with the ribs and seeds removed provide the right amount of heat to make this the perfect dressing or dip. The Greek yogurt balances the spicy kick making this homemade dressing something special that also doubles as the perfect dip.

How is ranch made from scratch?

Making this ranch dressing at home is as simple as tossing all the ingredients together in a food processor or blender and then mixing them on high for 30-60 seconds or until everything is well combined.

You can serve it as a dip with tortilla chips, air fryer buffalo cauliflower, or a spicy ranch dressing for this little gem salad.

Vegan ranch dressing recipe

You can easily make this recipe into a vegan ranch dressing recipe. Since the only thing in my Jalapeño Pepper Ranch dressing that is not vegan is the Greek yogurt, you can swap it for a vegan version.

My personal favorite vegan Greek yogurt is Kite Hill but you can use whatever brand you like! Otherwise, you will follow the rest of the recipe the same by mixing with the rest of the ingredients.

Why is restaurant ranch dressing so good?

Restaurant ranch dressing often tastes exceptional due to the use of high-quality ingredients, including fresh herbs and spices, buttermilk, or something similar, and sometimes a secret blend of ranch seasoning unique to each establishment.

What gives ranch dressing its taste?

Ranch dressing gets its distinctive taste from a combination of ingredients like buttermilk, sour cream base or tangy Greek yogurt, garlic, onion, herbs (such as dill and parsley), and a hint of tanginess from vinegar or lemon juice.

Does ranch use raw eggs?

Traditional ranch dressing recipes don’t typically include raw eggs. Instead, they rely on dairy, in this case, the Greek yogurt. However, homemade variations may differ, so it’s important to always to check specific recipes if you have concerns about raw eggs.
