The nice thing about it though is it pairs with just about everything! Here are some of my favorites to enjoy with it:

Keeping and Storing Spicy Mayo

When I’m done whipping up a batch of spicy mayo, I like to jar it in either a mason jar or a reusable air-tight plastic container and pop it in the fridge.

The spicy mayo will last about 3-4 weeks in the fridge. It’s important though that you are storing the mayo correctly. If it is not air-tight or sealed properly, your mayo could go bad faster.

Questions you may have

What is spicy mayo made of?

Spicy mayo is made up of 2 main ingredients: mayonnaise and sriracha! You’ll also need a little paprika and soy sauce.

How do you make spicy mayo from scratch?

All you have to do is combine all the ingredients in a small bowl. It’s SO easy! If you want to make your mayonnaise from scratch, you can do that too.

Does spicy mayo taste like Mayo?

Yes and no. Its base is mayo, there is no denying that. However, Spicy Mayo is spicy, tangy, and slightly sweet. It is definitely a flavor of its own and so delicious.

Is spicy mayo Japanese?

No. Spicy Mayo is an American sauce with an Asian-zing. You may find spicy mayo on sushi, but it is definitely not something you would find in Japan or on any Japanese cooking.

Is Japanese mayo the same as yum yum sauce?

Japanese Mayo and Yum Yum Sauce are similar, but definitly not the same.

Japanese Mayo is a heavy egg flavor and is made with rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar.

I love to store my homemade sauces in these Weck jars. You can also purchase wooden or plastic lids if you prefer those. The jars look so nice, I don’t mind leaving them on the counter!
