Air fryer frozen egg rolls recipe
If you’re pressed for time and want something that will be ready in a few minutes, then you probably dig around in your freezer looking for something easy to make. At least that’s what I do when I don’t have much time or I don’t want to prepare a meal.
Frozen egg rolls have always been a great snack that anyone can make. They’re a delicious small meal if you aren’t too hungry. Or if you are having an Asian style meal (cue this Citrus Soy Salmon), egg rolls can be the perfect appetizer.
Serve them with fried rice for a quick and easy meal, or as an appetizer for kids.
No matter the case, if you are also a fan of this delicious snack, you have to try making them in the air fryer if you haven’t already. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!
Air fryers are great for many other recipes as well, and they are especially great for heating frozen foods. Check out some of my favorite air fryer recipes like air fried pickles, air fryer bagel bites, onion rings, garlic parmesan fries, and crispy buffalo wings.
What you’ll need
For this recipe, you don’t need much!
Egg rolls: to make this recipe for 2 servings, you will need 6 frozen egg rolls. I used Pagoda Chicken and Vegetable Egg Rolls that I found in the freezer section of my grocery store. I really like the Pagoda egg rolls. However, you can use your favorite brand or whatever you’ve got on hand already.

How to Cook Frozen Egg Rolls in an Air Fryer
- Preheat the air fryer.
- Air fry the egg rolls. Place frozen egg rolls in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry for 6 minutes, flip and continue cooking for 6 more minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
If you have leftover egg rolls, you can reheat them the next day at 350 F for 5-6 minutes or until heated through. For best results, I recommend only air frying the exact amount of egg rolls you plan to eat.
To spruce up your frozen egg rolls, garnish them with some thinly sliced green onions or fresh chopped parsley.
Can you put frozen egg rolls in an air fryer?
You can absolutely put frozen egg rolls in your air fryer. Air fryers are especially great for frozen foods and produce a better crunch than microwaves and ovens. Using your air fryer is also a much healthier option than deep frying your egg rolls!
What is the best way to cook frozen egg rolls?
You can use multiple methods to make frozen egg rolls including a microwave, air fryer, or an oven. But, my absolute favorite way to make frozen egg rolls is in an air fryer. If you follow me on Instagram, you know how much I love my air fryer!
The air fryer uses less oil which makes recipes in an air fryer a bit healthier. Air fryers circulate air all around the food which is one of the reasons that the air fryer will produce the crispiest option out of these methods.
The oven only sends air directly to the top or bottom and doesn’t hit the whole egg roll for a perfectly even crisp. The microwave will typically steam it more causing it to be soggier than the other methods.
But if you’re looking for a mediocre egg roll that will be ready in 2 minutes, the microwave is certainly a great option!
What are the nutrition facts for air fryer frozen egg rolls?
Depending on which brand of frozen egg rolls you buy, the nutrition facts will change. Remember to always read the back or side of the box for the suggested serving size, macros, etc.
I, like the rest of us, would love to polish off a box of tasty egg rolls, but the key to remember is – everything is healthy in moderation!
Egg Roll Dipping Sauce Recipe
A simple homemade egg roll sauce is easy to make!
You can make a sweet and spicy Asian dipping sauce by bringing 1 cup of apple cider vinegar to a boil with 1 cup of sugar. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and mix in 2 cloves of minced garlic, 1/2 tablespoon of ginger paste, 1/2 tablespoon of crushed red pepper flakes, and 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt.
Simmer the sauce, uncovered, for about 5 minutes. Then pour sauce into a glass jar and refrigerate for later, or allow to cool for 5-10 minutes and serve immediately with crispy egg rolls, fresh vegetables, or crab rangoons.
For a quicker option, you can also dip your egg rolls in soy sauce or plum sauce.
